Dampproofing Products

Dampproofing is the term used to describe the protection of properties from the effects of:

  •             Rising Damp
  •             Lateral Damp
  •             Penetrating Damp

Each one of these conditions has its own unique source of damp requiring different forms of preventative treatment. Incorrect diagnosis and identification of the source of such damp can result not only in recurring damage but also unnecessary costs. Over the years Safeguard has established a reputation for quality and innovative products designed to protect buildings against Rising, Lateral and Penetrating Damp.  The Research and Development section of Safeguard Europe is constantly introducing products using new technology designed to stop damp in its tracks.

Rising Damp

Rising Damp in existing buildings usually occurs as a result of one or more of the following reasons:
  • No Damp Proof Course (dpc)
  • Failed dpc
  • Bridged dpc

Penetrating Damp

External walls that are plastered and then painted with a good quality paint usually resist water penetration for many years, especially where paint is renewed as necessary.

Lateral damp

As its name implies, Lateral Damp occurs when moisture penetrates a substrate horizontally rather than vertically. Typically it occurs where soil backs a wall such as in basements and cellars, soil-retaining walls, split levels etc. Ideally walls subject to lateral damp should be protected on the positive (external) side so that moisture is prevented from entering the substrate.

Dryrod

High performance treatment for rising damp. Fast, clean, and effective damp-proofing with Dryrod.

Raindance

Raindance is a concentrated, colourless water-repellent for masonry based on alkali and UV resistant siloxane resins.

SWS Slurry

Cement-based waterproofing coating, used for sealing and protecting structures exposed to active or passive water.

Storm Dry

Storm Dry is a colourless, breathable, water-repellent treatment for bricks, concrete and stone walls. It is supplied in the form of a deeply penetrating cream that is applied to the wall surface in a single coat using a roller or brush. Once Storm Dry has been applied it will permeate deeply into the masonry before curing to form a water-repellent barrier.

Salt Neutraliser

S.W.S Salt Neutraliser is a low viscosity, solvent-free salt neutralizer targeting chlorides and sulphates. Ideal for treating groundwater salts present in a wall following rising damp treatment.
