Fillet Seal

A cement based, rapid curing, non shrink hydraulic setting powder for wall/floor joints.

DESCRIPTION
A cement based, rapid curing, non shrink hydraulic setting powder. Used at points of stress i.e. floor/wall junction and applied normally by trowel. Applied at a rate of 3-5 linear metres per 5 kgs subject to site conditions and requirements.

ADVANTAGES
  • Non-shrink
  • Adjustable consistency
  • Proven and predicatable performance
  • High bond strength to steel and concrete
  • Early strength development even at flowable consistency impermeable
METHOD OF USE
The surface must  be free of oil, dust, dirt, paint curing compounds and clean and free of all friable material or other contaminants that could impair adhesion.
Soak area to be treated to minimise absorption. Surface should be damp but free of standing water.

MIXING
Damp down the inside of the mixing container with clean water prior to mixing the initial batch of Fillet Seal. Ensure that the mixer is damp but free of standing water. Add 1kg of Fillet Seal to 150 litres of water. Adjust for smaller quantities.  Mix continuously for 3-5 minutes until a smooth, uniform, lump-free consistency is achieved. DO NOT OVERWORK AND AVOID USING MECHANICAL VIBRATION. A slow speed drill with a mixing paddle may be used. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD FILLET SEAL BE RETEMPERED BY THE ADDITION OF WATER.

APPLICATION
Dampen surface where necessary and force in Fillet Seal and finish with a fillet trowel. Where water pressure is highest, work towards point of greatest pressure and finish by hand, forcing material against water pressure until set. Cut off excess material from face within 3 minutes. Dampen fillet after application.

CURING
Dampen fillet until fully cured. Ideally cover with wet hessian.

LIMITATIONS
The temperature of the fillet and the elements coming into contact with the fillet should be in the range +5°C to 35°C.
